[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Probably one of the most difficult shots I took without a tripod. In the Blue Mosque I could at least lean against one of the enormous pillars, here standing in the middle of the building and pointing up, I could only hold my breath and shoot, trying not to sway. What surprised me more than the good clarity, was the blue of the sky- considering that I took the photo late in the evening.
Wikipedia gives a thorough history of the building and the fact that it was consecrated as a church, (something I initially found upsetting as it still has a strong pagan feel about it and should be left as such) that act seems to have preserved most of it from destruction.
“The Pantheon (Latin Pantheon,[1] from Greek Πάνθειον Pantheon, meaning "Temple of all the gods") is a building in Rome which was originally built as a temple to all the gods of Ancient Rome, and rebuilt circa 125 CE during Hadrian's reign. The intended degree of inclusiveness of this dedication is debated. The generic term pantheon is now applied to a monument in which illustrious dead are buried. It is the best preserved of all Roman buildings, and perhaps the best preserved building of its age in the world. It has been in continuous use throughout its history. The design of the extant building is sometimes credited to the Trajan's architect Apollodorus of Damascus, but it is equally likely that the building and the design should be credited to emperor Hadrian's architects, but not Hadrian himself as many art scholars once thought.[2] Since the 7th century, the Pantheon has been used as a Catholic church. The Pantheon is currently the oldest standing domed structure in Rome. The height to the oculus and the diameter of the interior circle are the same, 43.3 metres (142 ft).”

Hallo Klaudio!
An amazing photo with a very special impression - a real eyecatcher! The contrast between all these rectangles and this blue circle couldn't be bigger. A truly small work of art - this photo!
Greetings from autumnal cool and sunny Germany!

Hello Klaudio,

What a problem with the site, slow, slow and slow!!!
I see a lovely part of the ceiling also the round opening with the blue sky, a very nice picture,
Very well presentation, with love fulfilled. TFS.

Have a nice weekend,
John

Klaudio,
The isolated dome of the Pantheon is striking, it is a fine example of early Roman architecture. Fantsatic details, the graphism is pleasant to view. My best regards, Danilo

Buongiorno Klaudio,
Gradisco molto quest'idea, che dà l'impressione di un tipo di fuga degli elementi architetturali lontano dal centro blu. I colori sobri, sono molto armoniosi. Un bello lavoro grafico e nota cronistoria di prima qualità. Bravo.
Passa un buono giorno

Hi Klaudio.
A quite stunning arrangement of elements, both architectural and natural, in a photo that far exceeds what one expects from the thumbnail. The placement of the sky is marvellous, of course, but what I like most is the gentle graduation of the light and shadow on the left hand side of the picture. That faint whisp of cloud is great, too.
Regards,
Andrew
