Photographer’s Note
This unusual sundial is placed vertically on the front of a building in Rome and is said to be an old method of telling the hour of the day, by the shadow from the peg which stands out vertically from the wall. Hopefully someone will add more about this ancient timepiece.

So what was the time when you took the picture? I don't see a shadow on the clock ;-) Interesting piece of artwork. The image is nice as well. Clear and sharp. Thanks Murray :-)
