Photographer's Note

View of Achill island from the 460m high summit of Mt Minaun. This the view southeast towards the "mainland" and Clew Bay, Clare Island is at right, and I beleive the highest triangular peak in the distance at left is Croagh Patrick, a holy mountain that attracts pilgrims. It is possible to drive up Mt Minaun to the communication towers, after which its a short but very wet and muddy (ankle deep at least) walk to the cairns at the summit. It was so windy, standing up on the ridge was difficult.
