Photographer's Note

The blurred persons (they were passing by quickly) indicate that this is not a page from the comics book but a big mural.

This work by Icelandic postmodern artist Erró (born in 1932) is a mural of hand-painted ceramic tiles. It is a replica of a painting of the same name dating from 1999, here enlarged to a ceramic version of 11 x 4.5 metres. The piece partly deals with the legends of the skies, the rootlessness of modern life and the air terminal as a place of adventurous possibilities.

It was installed in 2017 in the terminal’s commercial area. (https://www.isavia.is/en/keflavik-airport/about-kef/art-at-the-airport).

Erró (born Guđmundur Guđmundsson in 1932 in Ólafsvík, Iceland) is a visual artist and painter, who is best known for his painted Pop art collages of images from comic books and advertisements. He currently lives in France and Spain.

This is the last picture I took in Iceland but I do not post in chronological order, so there will be more.
