Photographer’s Note

After a ten days travelogue to Samos and Ikaria islands,at the East of Greece,as a day visit to Efes in Turkey i returned and i 'll upload some of the best photos that I've taken during my Autumn vacations.

Potami beach

Potami beach is a long white pebble and sand magnificent beach of rare beauty at the north part of Samos west of Karlovasi.
Potami that combines mountain and sea is place for nature lovers. There can the visitors see the ancienter church, Metamorfosi, who is build the 11th century, the waterfalls, as well as the Castle that used the warriors for the expulsion of pirates and robbers.

Ποτάμι, Μια μαγευτική τοποθεσία του Καρλοβάσου είναι το Ποτάμι με την ωραία του πεντακάθαρη ακρογιαλιά. Το Ποτάμι που συνδυάζει βουνό και θάλασσα είναι τόπος για φυσιολάτρες. Εκεί οι επισκέπτες μπορούν να δουν την αρχαιότερη εκκλησία, τη "Μεταμόρφωση", η οποία χτίστηκε τον 11ο αιώνα, τους καταρράκτες καθώς και το Κάστρο που χρησιμοποιούσαν οι πολεμιστές για την εκδίωξη των πειρατών και ληστών.

Hi Danos,

Creative composition of these almost infinitive row of thatch parasols. The infinity becomes strengthen by the shade of the roofs and the lack of tourists.

Πολυ ωραια συνθεση με πετυχυμενη αποδοση στα χρωματα και τις φωτοσκιασεις.Βεβαιως αυτο που μ'αρεσει περισσοτερο ειναι αυτο που κρυβεται πισω απο τη φωτογραφια...ότι τα καλοκαιρι τελειωσε και θα πρεπει να κανουμε λιγο υπομονη μεχρι να ερθει το επομενο.

This looks like the tourist have gone home. Only the locals are still here, but they will not go swimming, I guess. It's a bit moody but it's end of high season. The winter is approaching fast. The sun shades boost DOF. Your fine light management produces vibrant colors and fine contrasts, in particular the shadows. Well done

Hi Danos,

The lines of parasols have a graphic effect. The point of view leads our eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth on the composition. Using a polarizing filter has a good effect on the colors of the sea and of the sky. Well done, have a nice day.

The beach after the high season. Still splendid weather, probably warm water and this impressive loneliness and emptiness. I like such places and usually travel in low season. Nice beach but may to much pebbles for me. Magnificent place.

I guess everyone is having their siesta. The sun is high in the sky indicated by the shadows. I particulrly like the repeating circles made by the shadows. Good use of the perspective in your composition.

Excellente prise de vue et bonne disposition des parasols. ce n'est pas une plage de sable fin mais j'aime bien cette scène et le beau contraste entre ombre et lumière. Bel éclairage et superbe harmonie de couleurs.

Bonjour, mon bon ami Danos,
L'automne se présente sous les meilleurs auspices avec cette très belle composition. La plage abandonnée nous laisse découvrir le sable, ses petits galets et ses coquillages. Les parasols s'amusent à créer des formes géométriques étonnantes. La composition est encore une fois très réussie.

Hi, Danos. The two parallel rows of parasols make a very good perspective in the image. Their repetition also gives a nice graphic aspect to the image. The contrast between the darker colours of sea and sky ant the lighter colours of the parasols and the beach is well marked.

Lovely perspective created by the umbrellas and their circular shadows on the ground, with their repeating patterns also creating a fine interest. The colour of the sea, turquoise is brilliant and contrasts well with the sand and pebble color. Technically impeccable as always, this is a fine work!

Fine perspective along the thatch beach umbrellas which are displayed in a good light. A good sense of depth as well and colors are nicely rendered. Not many tourist yet, maybe it was too early but it looks like the sun was already high...I've noticed only one person sitting in one of those beds ;)
