Photographer's Note

Chorin Abbey was a cistercian monastery near the frontier between German and Slav nations. It was founded in 1258 and secularized in 1542. As it is mandatory for cistercian churches, there is no steeple. From the late 16th until the beginning of the 19th century, the buildings were slowly falling apart until the ruins were secured and partly rebuilt.

Taken on film with Canon A1, scan from paper print.
