Photographer's Note

Marmorpalais, a small castle built 1787 - 1793 for Friedrich Wilhelm II, situated in the "Neuer Garten" at "Heiliger See" in Potsdam. A photo of the same castle I posted yesterday, is showed a guided tour inside. "Neuer Garten" means new garden, and it is new compared with the baroque style of the Sanssouci park. Friedrich Wilhelm wanted to have an english landscape garden, must have been the latest fashion then, and it is beautiful, indeed.
The obelisk is made from two different kinds of marble and also seems to be latest fashion during the period of classicism. And if you could not have an obelisk from egypt, then another slim, high, pointed stone can do.
In WS another pov, where the situation on the beach of "Heiliger See" is visible
