Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
Continuing with my photographs from Trier, this one is very unusual for me, the interior of a museum!
It was a beautiful day when we visited the Archaeological Museum and wherever there was a window, the sunshine came streaming in.
The sunlight made a most interesting pattern behind the statue, which I found very attractive. I'm not sure who the figure was, except that he was probably Roman as many of the exhibits were from the Roman era.
I cropped the photograph a little to add to the drama of the presentation and used 'detail extractor' from Colour Efex. I will post the photograph before the pp as a workshop.
If you ever venture to Trier, the Archaeological Museum (Rheinisches Landesmuseum) is well worth a visit.
Have a great day, Bev :-)
I just have to say that for the second day of spring, it is now snowing in N.W. England!

Hello Bev,
The backlit skylight adds an interesting graphical element to the composition that contrasts well with the curves of the statue. Colour Efex seems a useful tool, I must look it up. Thanks for sharing.
Grey and soggy here this morning.

Hello Bev,
I would have thought this was the usual Jesus statue, but probably all men wore long hair and beards in those days. The diagonal lines on the well lit wall behind the statue catch my eyes immediately and make this more than just any other photo of a statue.
Kind regards,
Gert

Bonjour Beverly,
Amicalement
Serge

I can agree how the outside light gave its shine upon the glass behind the statue, Beverley. And no-less wonderfully taken the statue picture.
A task with just a bit difficulty, but handled superbly.
Good afternoon,

The most important in your picture is the contrast between irregular shapes of the statue and geometrical lines in the BG, I like such contrasts, very well seen

Hi Bev,it's always difficult to take good pics from a museum,it's always a great battle with lights and glass reflections..ehehe....and your is absolutely lovely. Looks like a black and white, but what it's amazing is the contrast between the curves of the staute and the lines of background,a great pic,no doubts. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Beverley,
Excellent sharpness for this museum photo. The subdued lighting is wonderful and the shadows make a great background, which adds some touch of modern architecture to the picture of this old artefact. Well spotted and captured!
