Dear friends,

On our way back home from a week in Austria,we spent the night in Bacharach,a small historic town on the banks of the bending Rhine river,between koblenz and Bingen.
Thanks to its wonderful green hills,vineyards, very old towns and castles,it is one of the most pictoresque parts of the river.
A rich region with a centuries long tradition for wine making and extremely important for transport by ships for all Europe...
Despite many visitors,you can still feel a relaxed,quiet atmosphere.

Overhere in the middle of the river, we can see the 1327 former toll fort Pfalzgrafenstein("Die Pfalz") in front of the town of Kaub....
