Photographer's Note

Let's continue our visit of the spacious Castle Runkel. Yesterday I showed you the outward courtyard and here you see the view from the highest of the three donjons downward to the inner courtyard. You can't see it's ground because of the towering buildings around.
The picture shows some buildings of the upper castle. There's also a lower part, where you enter the area of the castle from the town Runkel.

I am not a tourism manager but I want to recommend a visit of this really great castle if you are in the neighbourhood by chance or if you are interested in such buildings. In the surroundings, in the romantic valley of the river Lahn, there are the cities of Limburg and Weilburg, also worth a visit. Here you can learn more about Castle Runkel.
