Photographer’s Note

This is the Richelieu wing of the Louvre.
The Louvre in Paris, France, is one of the world's most visited art museums, an historic monument, and a national symbol. The collection contains nearly 35,000 pieces displayed over the structure's 60,000 square metres (650,000 sq ft). The museum is on the Right Bank, in the neighborhood referred to as the 1st arrondissement and lies between the Seine River and the Rue de Rivoli. The Louvre is slightly askew of the axe historique, a long architectural straightaway that cuts through the centre of Paris.
The structure, begun in 1190 CE, originated as a fortress during the Capetian dynasty under the reign of Philip II and has been used as a residence. Used as an art depository from the time of François I, it was opened to the public after the French Revolution. At that time, the Louvre was intended to symbolize the progress of Liberty and was a destination for many of the spoils brought home by Napoleon's victorious armies. In the 20th century, the structure was renovated to match modern museum standards during the Grand Louvre project.

Hi Asa,
A sharp & luminous image with a lot of architectural details. Nice colors & saturation. I like the inclusion of the curving garden to add more interest, depth, and balance to the photo. Regards. Latiff.

Fine and original view of a world famous and photographed by millions of tourists. The building has a beauty of its own but I think the inclusion of the green flower bed makes the composition more attractive.

The details captured here of this iconic museum are subperb as all the intricate details of the finely carved marble so brilliantly seen. Wonderful blue sky and lush green forgrond surrounding this beautiful architecture.

I was just here recently myself, 3 weeks ago, still processing the images that I took. I will post some of them later. You have much nicer weather than I did. It was rainy for me. This a great image with very good sharpness and clarity. Composition is good with the inclusion of the street and landscape. The pyramid is still nicely visible. Good DOF. Il faut-être un touriste pour voir et restituer le Palais du Louvre sous cet excellent POV !!! Très bonne exploitation de la lumière qui fait ressortir couleurs et détails.

Hello Asa,

The Richelieu wing of the Louvre one of the most beautiful buildings in Paris, shall also much be photographed.
You placed the building excellent to the left, and make a lot room to the right.
Also the green hedges care for a wonderful and attractive picture.

Just the right atmosphere and time for this nice shot. I remembered being there and still enjoyed everything the place offered.
