Photographer's Note

Hello you all,
I return from vacancy, and my boss did not overload me yet work, then I benefit from it to make you discover a small corner of the Dordogne.

The Cistercian abbey of Boschaud

The abbey of Boschaud whose ruins hide with the hollow of a small valley between woods and meadows, was founded in 1145, it became cistercian, in the filiation of Clairvaux.
Since its first abbot, Jean de Calencio, until the last, Dom Pérignon in 1791, Boschaud knows all the vicissitudes of the history, revolts, plunderings and armed robberies, war One hundred Year old, wars of religion, French revolution... then it was left with the total abandonment, to be attached to the historic buildings in the middle of the 20th century.

One can still visit the ruins of the cloister and the church with file of cupolas, single treasure.

Information drawn from various documents found at the tourist office.
