Photographer's Note

Conques - Departement Aveyron - Population 314 inhabitants - Altitude 250 meters - Paris 624 Km.

On my way back of holidays I stopped in this picturesque perched medieval village where was built the abbey church of Sainte Foy between 1030 and 1125. Site of Pilgrimage on the way of Saint Jacques de Compostelle. Thus Sainte-Foy it was thought at the same time a sanctuary of pilgrimage and an abbey.

Because of a capricious weather I had many difficulties to find points of views in order to avoid including the milky sky.

A closer view enables you to better appreciate the details.
