Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

This is the statue of Jeanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc) the maid of Orleans (ca. 1412 - 1431) national heroine of France, beatified in 1909 and canonized in 1920.

The statue was created by Paul Dubois 1829 -1905, a French sculptor.

The statue stands proudly, at the edge of the paved area, facing Reims Cathedral.

Jeanne d'Arc played an important part in winning battles during the 100 years war between France and England and was there to see Charles VII crowned King of France at Reims Cathedral on July 17th 1429.

I will add a second photograph of the same statue, facing the cathedral, as a workshop.

Thank you for your interest, Bev :-)
