Photographer's Note

Approaching Saint Paul-de-Vence, a hill top fortified village. It was originally fortified like most villages here , as a protection and defense against the Saracens. Here you can see the typical vegetation characteristic of Provencal towns and villages. The ever present olive trees, stone pines, grape vine trellises fronting the doorways and facades of many buildings, palms etc.

Inside the walled village you may lose yourself in a maze of picturesque streets and alleys, lined up with flower pots, art galleries, cozy little squares, water fountains, quaint restaurants, arches, beautiful doors and windows etc.
