Photographer's Note

For my last post , a few members were surprised that we could make art (very humbly in my case) out of cranes.
Well, It made me think of some other cranes I had in stock and which are part of Industrial Art. I hope you will enjoy!

The TITAN cranes, situated on the Island of Nantes are testimonies of the industrial past of this island, right in the center of the city. Their name remind us of their lifting power: 80 tons, the crane itself weighing 400 t. being 43 m. high for this one.

It used to belong to the "Chantiers Dubigeon" in 1954, and worked until 1987, when the Naval shipyards closed.

Nantes city council then bought it and renovated it as an important element of the industrial heritage of the city and the refurbishing of the "Island of Nantes".
