Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

Please click here to see the larger Beta version.

My photograph was taken on our recent trip to France and shows a pretty, little village that we discovered called Rohan.

Rohan (Breton: Roc’han) is in the Morbihan department in Brittany in north-western France.

It is the home to the House of Rohan, members of which included viscounts, dukes and princes and has had a prominent role in French history. The commune's coat of arms is identical to that of the family.

The village is situated on the banks of the river Oust and the Canal from Nantes to Brest (which merge for a part of their journey), upstream of Josselin.

I have searched the Internet but cannnot find much more information about the Rohan, other than the church that you can see in the b/g is called 'The Chapel of Our Lady of Good Encounter'.

The walk along the river bank is exceptionally beautiful and I loved how this weir added interest to the view towards the chapel.

My warm regards, Bev :-)
