Photographer's Note

Tonight I start on a revisit to my stay in Brittany in 2006. My first posting is a reposting of a photo taken in Fougeres, one which got no points on my original posting. I've reworked, leveling it and bringing up the colour and contrast.
Fougeres is a little different to many medieval towns. The oldest part including the chateau is way down below the more modern (but also quite old) part of town with the chateau sitting in a loop of the River Nancon. Just down stream from the chateau is the old market area and an area with old mills on the river banks. The building on the left in the photo looks like it may have been a laundry and if not it had some function that required easy access to the river (Can anyone put me straight?).
It was a drizzly day but still provided good light.
