Photographer's Note

The legendary, medieval village of Les Baux de Provence - a town lying on the limb of limestone mountain range Les Alpilles. The first information comes from the tenth century. It is a stone village, located on top of a rocky cliff. This strategic location on the flat area to permit residents to observe the area and effective defense in the event of an attack.
Above the town the ruins of a medieval fortress dominating the Chateau des Baux - the ruins of a medieval castle and is still alive, ,,medieval'' town. Looking from the castle from the top you can see with the naked eye stuck to his village for defense. This town is still alive (of course only with tourists), you can go to the streets, which almost 1000 years ago, walking people, like us.
The town is tiny, clustered around the castle, which dominates on the hill. The narrow, hilly streets around this dense network of the fortress and the nearby church. This is one of the ,,Wonders of France'' and therefore one of the most popular tourist towns. Wealth of shops and boutiques, primarily from souvenir, but also with clothes and shoes, and groceries.
