Photographer's Note
An image from last summer in the Alps. Reou d'Arsine lake in Ecrins National Park has an amazing blue color caused by mineral particle in suspension. An enchanted location near the mountain called "The Lambs".
The Velvia 50 film used to take this photograph contributes to render very saturated colors, particularly the blue color of the lake wich was naturally saturated.

Splendid view, perfect light, awesome compo. And don't expect me to write anything else. It's enough to express my feelings about this shot. Maybe I'll add also "WOOOOW".

Xavier,
This is a well composed photo dividing the shot into three distinct zones (blue in the fg, green in the center, then blue again in the bg). The lighting is great with the top of the mountain being spotlighted while the foreground is in shadow which helps to lead the eye to the mountains.
TFS,
Asa

Bonsoir Xavier,
Bravo !
A bientôt

Bonsoir Xavier,

Bien vu.

Beautiful colors and excellent exposure management, Xavier! Velvia 50 and the grad filter did a really fantastic job. Composition also seems to be very pleasing, but colors and exposure are essential here. Really well done!

Anton

Nice one Xavier. The way you copied the sky with the blue water in the bottom was genius. It's almost the same tone... I like your limited range of colors here, only green, grey and blue. I would have cloned that something in the bottom left close to the edge of the frame. The Velvia is indeed a great film.

Dang Xavier. Whatever beauty we have here in North America you Europeans seem to have double. :) This is a fantastic shot, and it definitely looks like a Velvia. You did an excellent job with the exposure; I'm well aware of Velvia's reputation of being very unforgiving of incorrect exposures. This is just lovely. Thanks for sharing.
