Photographer's Note

A plage publique [public beach] is free of charge, unlike a plage privée [private beach] where you have to pay for cabin, sunbed and umbrella. There might also be an entrance fee or you have to belong to a certain club or stay at a certain hotel.

The private beaches are very uniform with loungers and umbrellas in the same color. Whereas the public beaches show a variety in colors and shapes - also among people. And you bring your own stuff, including drinks and food.

This beach is a part of the Côte d'Azur and facing Baie des Anges [Bay of the Angels]. It's situated on the outskirts of Cagnes-sur-Mer close to Boulevard de la Plage, where you're able to park your car - if you're lucky. Then the beach is next to the sidewalk.

It's a rather narrow beach - consisting of hard pebbles - overlooking the part called Cros-de-Cagnes. You're also able to watch traffic on approach to or climb-out from 'Nice-Côte d'Azur' - the international airport.

In short - public beaches are more fun!

I see now that this could have gone into the Hunt as 'Water in an urban environment', but I already have an entry.
