Photographer's Note
Details of a sculpture of the 15th century
The representational scenes in certain churches of the 15th century take more importance with the reproduction of the human or monstrous masks. Their disturbing look protects the building of the forces of the Evil which surrounds it. Sculptures were cut straight from the stone. I like their imperfections and their simplicities. Simple sculptures, but which force the admiration.

Simpe but nice and effective shot. Great grey tones of stone. The black background is well chosen. Sharp and well composed. Well seen!

Philippe - an interesting close-up of the pillar with the faces. Good textural detail, and I like how the areas around the masks are just black. It seems that after all these centuries, the masks do not look very disturbing any more but rather charming. It's fascinating to imagine what events and scenes they might have witnessed for more than half a millennium, just being there on the stone pillar and looking at the world ...

It is nice, Philippe. I like the dark tones here. Reinforces the old feel. Very good texture as well.

I like the texture and the black background, a very interesting detail. Quite different from your usual church pictures, but very special and very nice. Well done, Philippe.

Great texture, Philippe. I like this nice detail not only for the sculptural details of the faces but the age and wear of the colun and faces. There is such great age here and it is so nicely visible with the nicely captured texture. I feel like putting my hand on this and feeling the past. Very nicely captured. Good job.
Grande texture, Philippe.

Bon weekend.
