Photographer's Note

In the canal called Nyhavn (=New Haven) there's always something going on. Many cafés and restaurants have tables along the quays. On the bulwark, next to the moored sailing ships / boats one can always see a line of people sitting with beers they bought in a close-by kiosk - to avoid the expensive café prices. There's a relaxed and cheerfull mood and it's a nice corner of the city. In old days it was a place where one should watch out; sailors and bullies ruled here and the police or MPs were not happy to go there.
On the photo you can see a gentleman entertaining outside a restaurant. He was playing Lili Marleen. Fantastic song.
