Photographer's Note

This picture was taken in the centre of the village Zubrnice (ger. Saubernitz). Some buildings of the village are now a museum, the 'Muzeum lidové architektury Zubrnice' (Museum of people's architecture). Some buildings were brought from other parts of northern Bohemia. The baroque well in the foreground is from 1695 and stood originally in the village Střížovice (ger. Strisowitz), and is now a symbol of the museum.
I've got a very personal relationship to this museum because a small building of the farm of my father was brought here. The village where my father lived does not exist any more because of lignite-mining.
