Photographer's Note

Frydlant is a town in the north of the Czech Republic (7500 inhabitants). Frydlands history dates back to the 6th century, when settlers from Lusatia settled in the region of the Jizera Mountains. The first written mention dates from 1278. The town has a rich history, the largest development was in the 14th century, it was followed by damages during the invasion of the Hussites, during the Thirty Years War, the Seven Years War and in the Napoleonic times. Despite the devastation by fires and wars many historic buildings have survived, including the Neo-Renaissance town hall built in 1892 to 1896.
