Photographer's Note

Neretva river is 225 km long, it has its sources in Bosnia Herzegovina and empties into the Adriatic Sea in Croatia close to Dubrovnik. The estuary of the river forms a delta of total area of 120 km².
It is an unique landscape, it was initially a gigantic marshland. Today it is partly a nature reserve and partly a huge vegetable and fruit garden. Between four arms of Neretva river is a network of canals, local farmers get to their fields by boat. Tourists can also take a boat trip and admire lagoons, lakes and marshes, the whole delta is surrounded by gentle hills.
And as an additional attraction: several restaurants in surrounding villages offer unique regional cuisine including meat, game, salt and freshwater fish, as well as the exquisite frog and eel dishes.
