Photographer's Note

Pobiti Kamani near Varna is the largest of only 2 deserts in Europe. The other is in Spain (Tabernas Desert). Cactus and sandstorms occur here. These are NOT ancient ruins but natural geological formations. This stone forest is of indeterminate origin. The columns are between 5-7 metres high. They reminded me of the pinnacles in Western Australia near Cervantes, or hoodoos / fairy chimneys in USA / Turkey. More info here:
