Walking in Bruges 2019 on Saturday afternoon with camera in hand.

The 18th century classicist house of the Arents noble family is located between the Groeninge Museum and Gruuthuse Museum. Until the 17th century it was still part of the Gruuthuse domain.
In the eighteenth century it was owned by Valentin de Stappens de Harnes (1713-1777), schout van Brugge. After him it became the home of his son, Louis-Philippe de Stappens de Harnes, and that of his wife Petronilla van Outryve. When the Stappens had to sell the property due to debts, it was purchased by his brother-in-law Emmanuel-Louis from Outryve d'Ydewalle.
Towards the end of the nineteenth century, house and garden were owned by Aquilin Arents de Beerteghem. The city council then ruled that he should get this property in order to give it a museum function and to make the garden public. The owner was expropriated in 1908 against the will of the owner

I hope that you enjoy it
