Boere Creek.

My bike trip brought me along the creek with a beautiful old farmhouse as a reflection
It was a wonderful Sunday afternoon and no wind.

De Boerekreek is the largest (39 ha) creek in Meetjesland.
When it was founded in the sixteenth century, it was called the Grote Geule.
It has a very capricious shape and is close to the center of Sint-Jan-in-Eremo.
It is only separated from the Mazure Creek by an agricultural road.
Part of it is a nature reserve and is managed by Natuurpunt.
Another part, close to the center of Sint-Jan-in-Eremo, has been run by the province from 1999 as a sports center.
This part was previously operated from 1970 by Bloso.
The area is protected in Europe as part of the Natura 2000 Polders site

I hope that you enjoy it
