Tournai - Terrace season

Colourful pictures can also be taken in Belgium. We only need beautiful weather :)
And nice weather means terrace time.

The pictures here have been taken last Sunday on the Grand-Place of Tournai, a town with 70.000 inhabitants in the French-speaking region.

Tournai is the second oldest city of Belgium (after Tongeren) and has played a major cultural-historical role.
It already existed in Roman times (Turnacum) and as you can see on the picture it’s still alive and kicking.

The tower on the background is the belfry from the end of the 12th century, the oldest belfry in Belgium, and yes for the tower climbers among us a staircase of 257 steps leads you upwards.
