I took these picture during a visit to Ostend, the pier is a nice stroll place.

I shows you the construction during low tide, every day are people that work for the repair of the wood construction.

Here gives I again a perspective through the choice of the angle.

Ostend is now the largest town on the coast and an important economic and tourist center. The city has some links to the English coast. Most tourists come to Ostend for the pleasure beach, but the attraction of the city is that there are a lot to see and experience different activities. The towers of St. Peter and Paul Church stabbing high above the city. This neo-Gothic church was built on the site of St. Peter in 1896 burned down. At the Albert I promenade is the Casino Kursaal. It is not just a casino, but a socio-cultural center with several rooms where conferences are held or theater, restaurants, bars and of course the casino hall.

Hi John,
A very nicely constructed capture, the perspective on the pier is excellent and the foreground rock breakwater adds a lot of additional dimension to the image.
Good choice to have people on the beach and the pier, they serve well to give scale to the image.

Hello John,
A superb graphical image with excellent colours and sharpness. The pier is well placed in the frame and guide the eyes towards the structure at the end. The wonderful blue sky makes the perfect backdrop. Beautifully rendered tones and textures in rocks and wood. Very well done.

More depth nearly isn't possible ;-) An interesting photo because one clearly can see the dimension of tidal range here. A fascintaing nature and an outstanding picture - also because ot its composition.

This is a well composed shot of this jetty and pier. The repeating pattern formed by the timber work of the pier is very attractive. The angle of the shot works well creating a sense of depth and direction. The lighting and colors are fine and the photo has outstanding sharpness and DOF.

A good downward pov, with superb use of diminishing linear perspective, & vanishing point. Specially I like the all the lines goes in same direction even the plane in the sky. Good exposure and gr8 sharpness and strong color detailing. well done.have a nice day

The POV very well selcetd give a very plesant graphic effect nad especially an incerdible depht to the image. Superb blmue color in the sky and too in the sea. Details of the rocks very well selected. A very plesant view of this famous palce of Ostende.

Hello John -

Excellent use of leading lines. There are so many lines in this images that it is impossible to miss the main subject. But, there are two lines not leading to the subject, the contrails, that I think make the scene really work - they break up the large blue area of the sky. Well done!

Cool photographed the wooden pier foundations. Covered with moss rocks nearby, part of the beach and the sea passage. And above all this clear blue sky. They are on the trails after planes. Colors and sharpness great.

The contrast in colors in the peir, between the above water, and under water , parts, is very interesting, espcially now that both parts are visible. And again I like very much the perpective here, thanks to tthe very small portion of sea and horizon visible on the left.

Zelfs de condensatiestrepen van de straalvliegtuigen helpen om het perspectief te versterken. Mooi helder licht met mooie kleurgradaties. En de personen in de achtergrond op het strand brengen schaal en een verrassend rood vlekje.

Olá John, this is a strong appealing perspective. The pier itself has a nice geometric structure and its good there's efforts to mantain it alive. The lines at left also enhance the perspective and sense of depth and its good to see the people in the beach even if far away. I noticed also the person on the pier at right although it's almost unvisible. Beautiful sky as a BG, there's two planes making a race :-)

Good evening John,
The low tide let the wooden pier, prominently dominating in depth onto the open sea, with it's water-mark tells a 4 to 5 meters hight difference between high and low tide.
Impressive nature phenomena, ands marvelous blue sky along.
