Photographer's Note
An old photo, but I love the old cars in the foreground that makes it look even older! This is Independence (formerly Lenin) Square in Minsk. The statue is V.I. Lenin, and behind is the Government House. Independence Avenue (Prosect Nazavisimosti) is the main thoroughfare of Minsk City, but most of the current buildings date from after WWII. Government House was one that survived, however. The building was designed by Iosif Langbard (1930-1934), who also designed the square.
