The imposing facade of the cathedral of Santiago with its two towers dominates the cathedral square located northwest of the Imperial Palace of Innsbruck.
The Innsbruck Cathedral among the most outstanding works of Baroque church. It was built between 1717 and 1724 on the ruins of a Gothic church. The famous image of the Virgin of Lucas Cranach (the mayor) adorns the altar inside. The frescoes painted on the ceiling and plaster works are the work of the brothers Adam
