Photographer's Note

I like the challenge of shooting portraits from complete strangers and it's often older people with weathered details in the face that make the most interesting and there was such an opportunity within a brightly lit Samarkand market. This strong characterful elderly and his traditional skull cap -or cuppa- clearly stood out amongst the rest of the crowd. Life's experiences of advancing years are etched so deeply with many tales to tell as he knows it, looked yet very proud, wise, thoughtful and contented with his lot.

That is a very lived-in face that I love to record and treasure. As they say, age does not come on it's own!!

This coped very well on widest aperture priority.
