Photographer's Note

for kind Bhumibol and the noble laureat

Wat Pho is a temple complex just south of the Grand Palace. Its official name is Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm Rajwaramahaviharn. Surprisingly, most people prefer the name Wat Pho.

The chapel of the reclining Buddha was built by King Rama III in 1832. The image represents the entry of Buddha into Nirvana and the end of all reincarnations. That is when Buddha lays his burden down.
