Photographer's Note

I spotted this couple of female monks from the Tibetan tradition, chatting on a balcony. I thought they would make a nice picture, but before I could get them into focus, one of them had opened up and was shooting back. She was equipped with a superior lens too! The second one is also equipped with a digital camera and a thermos flask, (all necessary equipment for the modern Tantric monk)The Indian delegate beside her, I think, may be calling up reinforcements. I was out-gunned!
This is a scene from the International Buddhist Conference held at Buddha Munton this year.
Note: A Female monk is not the same as a Buddhist nun (Mee Chee). A Buddhist nun is like a religious sister (in a religious orders but not a priest). A female monk (a Bhikkuini) is ordained to the Buddhist 'Sangha' or priesthood.
