Photographer's Note

This photograph is taken 35 years ago at the Ximending in Taipei, Taiwan. This is a business district of the downtown area in Taipei, and is shopping quarter. If a signboard is seen, stores such as a bank, a hotel, a food wholesale store, a barbershop, and an optician's shop, jostled in the both sides of a passage, and are built and located in a line with them. Ximending was lost the vigor in the level of 1980 by development of the new town of northeast part. However, since it becomes after the second half of the 1990s, it will become pedestrian paradise and entry on a car will be restricted, the conversion in young-men-oriented shopping quarter from age-oriented shopping quarter progresses, and it has continued up to now.

This photograph is scanned with CanoScan Lide60 and digitized.
