Photographer's Note

No, not chewing gum…but rather GUM (pronounced "goom") , the department store.

You might recognize this building more for the location on Red Square and its exterior lighting display at night, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to obtain such a picture…so please support me in convincing Malgo to post one of hers. :)

So, what doe’s one do when it starts to rain…why, you step inside of course. I had already planned on spending a bit of time here, but the ever changing weather conditions dictated the precise moment.

After a quick search, I realize this has been posted many times before, but not too many in recent history…so I hope there’s a good percentage of “first timers” viewing this. Here's to wishing it will be somewhat original. Unlikely as that may be, I thought I’d give it a try anyway.

It seemed most of the previous entries showed more of the mall itself, but I wanted to utilize the graphic effect of the skylight rooftop as a main feature. I took multiple compositions, but this one ended up being my favorite. Without my handy dandy tripod, I tried my best to steady the shot on a ledge overlooking this long stretch of shopping canyon.

And stupid me, I walked up the three flights of stairs for this vantage point before realizing I could have taken an escalator…I blame it on the jet lag. lol Oh well, heaven knows I need the exercise!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy shopping!
