The Lake Onega in Karelia in the north of Russia, the second big lake in Europe taken in winter whith ice and snow. A photo catch somewhere in the middle of the lake close to some small islands.

Une très belle photo qui correspond vraiment à la représentation que l'on se fait de ces lacs de Carélie: le froid, le vent, la neige, la végétation particulière. Une photo d'athmosphère. Vraiment une réussite.

Hi Jean,
For me, this is a picture screaming out loneliness and desolation. The naked tree in the foreground creates good depth and there is also a clear movement in this tree and in the forest in the background. A quite emotional photo!

La forme tortueuse de cet arbre au premier plan accentue encore l'impression de froid rude. j'aime beaucoup cette douce lumière qui filtre à peine à travers les nuages, cela donne une superbe ambiance.
C'est très bien vu!!

Les arbres cadrent ce lac recouvert de glace et de neige. La prise de vue envoie notre regard vers l'île en arrière-plan ce qui donne de la profondeur à l'image. Un paysage qui donne une sensation de tranquillité. Bonne soirée.

Une belle construction de l'image qui donne beaucoup de poésie à cette photo, j'aime beaucoup l'équilibre de la composition et cette douce lumière hivernale qui crée une bonne atmosphère. Une étendue glacée qu'il doit être bien agréable à parcourir, bien couvert évidemment... Merci Jean.

Bonjour Jean,
I simply can't find the right words to express my attitude to this very artistic photo! The trees look fantastically fairy-talish and at the same time they remind me of quite real human beings who are either dancing a strange dance in the biting wind or just are standing in this curious posture. Maybe the day was not windy but I have an impression of cold weather and strong wind (because of the trees and the colour gamma?)
Excellent composition, excellent capture of the mood and the atmosphere of that place!

La Russie semble ne pas avoir de l'imagination en hiver, mais ta decouverte de cette sculpture denudee prouve que l'ame artiste voit et definit ce que la plupart ne s'en appercoit pas. Ta reaction me parle d'une experience et vigilance. Compliments Jean et amities!

superbe atmosphère donnée par la douceur et l'uniformité des tons,où transperce une jolie lumière dans la partie gauche du ciel!Les branches de l'arbre enfoui dans la neige se détachent ainsi de façon magnifique entre les formes plus confuses des autres arbres!J'aime beaucoup!

Bonjour Jean,
il me semble que tu voyages beaucoup, un lac aux allures de mer intérieure et gelé en surface, cela fait un fameux volume de glace.
J'aime beaucoup me retrouver dans des endroits désolés, calmes, comme ici. Les arbres sont bien placés y compris et surtout, celui au premier plan.

Hello Jean,
it is quite hard to realize that your POV is somewhere in the middle of a lake. This looks more like a wintery landscape on snowy fields, but I like this curiosity. The picture has a nice atmosphere and your POV with the leafless tree in a perfect position is very well chosen. I like it.
