Photographer's Note

The photo was taken in Kali Gandhaki Valley which is one of the biggest canyon in the world. Valley is situated between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Massif. At place which is on the hoto, there was so heavy wind, that our cap was flying away our heads. You felt like walking in the desert - but the attitude was still over 3000 metres.

The whole transport to the higher village in that valley is made by caravans. There is no other way - only what you can carry on your or animals backs can be transported there. What's more - through that valley the main caravan's track was going to Tibet. Merchants coming from Tibet with salt met with another one - with wheat from Terai in Nepal.
