041 / Monkeys at Swayambhunath, Kathmandu
Swayambhunath, one of Nepal's most sacred Buddhist sites, is a hilltop stupa and temple complex best known for its stunning views over Kathmandu. The place is also affectionately known as the Monkey Temple, an allusion to the hordes of resident playful monkeys that routinely create mischief in the hope of easing some food out of visitors' hands. Over time, they have proven to be particularly adept at posing for photographs.
