Photographer's Note

This was taken from the Shwesandaw Paya in Pya. The Temple is rather old and decrepit and in severe need of a paint job! Fortunately it gave me some very nice views of the town, a view which i couldn't experience in other Burmese cities due to either the height of the hill or the location of the temple. As it approached evening mist rolled over the town creating a rather pleasant scene.

The actual town is very very laid back, and i curse myself for not spending an extra day in Pyay as they seemed like a lot of interesting things to see and places to explore. As like most towns in Myanmar street lights are rare and if you venture out at night without a map you inevitably get lost which was what happened to me a couple of hours later!

I sharpened the photo using a combination of unsharp mask and smart sharpen. It looks great on my monitor, but might look over-sharpened on others.

I suppose that I could clone out the wire on the bottom of the photo, but i'm often reluctant to do this with wires because they seem to be part of the landscape!
