Photographer's Note

While the elite urban folks gather at clubs for recreation, these rural folks socialize in their typical old fashion and seemingly unaware of my presence. It's time for these Intha farmers & fishermen to mingle about in a relax manner after hard days work at the end of morning market day at Nyaungshwe dusty frontier town on the shores of Inle Lake.

It’s only natural thing to do and probably routine for them and what caught me apart from their facial features were; the seasoned antique weighing scale that was probably the in-thing state of the art rarely seen nowadays in our hi tech world that I found fascinating, and of course the striking red of their sling bags or the Shan bag which is commonly worn by every Burmese and becomes almost a trademark of the country itself.

A hip shot on the fly as not to disrupt their privacy who probably were discussing the important issues that were troubling the world or discussing sales tactics perhaps.....

They know the essential of life and it kind of sums the place up for me.
