Photographer's Note

This capture shows, some of local way of life, a unique but popular vehicle as public transport in Burma. A van can carry 7 to 8 guests but cramped with 14 sweaty people. Clothed in maroon robes are a common sight amongst passengers, goods, baskets, domestic animals sometimes, etc, etc. According to tradition, monks do not carry money unless it is offered to them as a donation, so they are often allowed free passage on public transportation. This was taken in Nyaungshwe during morning rush hour.

Nyaungshwe bustling township, located at the north end of Inle Lake is the main trading hub for the local villages, as well as the main distribution point of market produce from the lake to the rest of the country.
