The quiet streets of Nam Pan Photo

Photographer’s Note

No traffic in the "streets" of Nam Pan, one the main stilt villages on the Inle Lake. This is downtown, with bigger houses, and some corrugated iron roofs, most probably a status symbol there, as most have simple thatched tops...

Pas d'embouteillages dans les rues de Nam Pan, un des principaux villages sur pilotis du lac Inle, au Myanmar central.
Nous sommes donc au centre-ville, avec des maisons plus importantes, des toits de tôle ondulée (chères), certainement un signe extérieur de richesse, les gens simples ne pouvant se permettre que des toits en feuilles ou chaume (gratuit)....

Hello Laurent,
Interesting view of the main street with traditional houses lining the "street". I have not seen anything like this before. And beautiful mountain ranges in the back ground. I would imagine the mountain in Burma to be heavily forested ... perhaps they were before. Regards. Latiff.

Salut Laurent,

Tu as fait bonne utilisation de la largeur de la "rue" pour construire une perspective offrant un impact optimal.

L'échantillonage de maisons sur pilotis est varié et intéressant. Quel décor spectaculaire avec cette montagne en background. Évidemment, l'inclusion de la pirogue et ses deux passagers est un ajout important.

In reality, traffic is not of concern in here. The quietude is striking and at the same time makes me wish to live in something similar. It is a beautiful POV and a wonderful daily life scene. Well done.

Laurent, this is an awesome mix of arid and wet. The hills are definitely desert looking and not tropical but the canal makes it all look askew, great job, well seen.

What is a superb composition. The river leads away the look until the huge mountain standing out in the background, the buildings which can be seen on both of the sides of the river very cosy. His rowing pair sight heightens the mood only. A panorama is superb. Beautiful shot. Have a nice day

Hello Laurent.
A truly lovely picture of this amazing stilt village. The saturation is almost too much, but the effect is quite powerful with the reds and greens. The water looks superb, the viewpoint is great, and the people in their boat add a great human element. The photo has a good sense of depth achieved by the view along the stream towards those slightly hazy mountains behind.

Une photo et un texte très intéressants.
Une belle photo également avec un POV perpendiculaire qui permet de bien voir l'organisation des maisons autour de la "rue" centrale. J'aime beaucoup les couleurs bien captées et les bambous (?) verticaux qui font un bel effet graphique.

The canal looks like a railway track to me, except that the sleepers are created by the ripples on the water. Superb light & good saturated colours. Inle lake did provide you with fantastic shots & this one's no exception

pourtant les toits de chaume soit certainement plus esthétique que la tôle ondulée, qui résiste mieux aux intempéries, ici , au moins le centre ville n'est pas pollué par de nombreux vehicules!!!
