Photographer's Note

This image was taken from the beach in Kurumba, an island on the southern edge of the North Male Atoll (Kaafu Atoll). The island is located near the capital Male. The camera is pointing towards the airport of Male, which is actually not in Male but on the neighbouring island due size issues :-D

However, the sky was brightened up from the lights of the airport and the clouds in the sky were reflecting the colours beautifully.

Since it was all dark around, only a long exposure was possible. To keep the low light noise to a minimum, I selected ISO100 with widest aperture that was possible with the lens I used, which was f/4. Tripod and remote shutter release of course was standard equipment. I cannot remember anymore about the duration of the exposure, but looking at the short star trails, it was probably between 5 and 10 min. The interesting thing is, and I only noticed it when I examined the image on my Mac, that a light trail from a jet taking off can be seen on the left side horizon near the centre of the image (hope you can see it as well).

Only little gamma correction in post edit that is it.
