Photographer's Note

In the Maldives, life is organized around "water". You can either sunbathe on the beach, snorkel on the reef, scuba dive to get a chance to see deeper more marine species (eventhough 70% of the marine life is easily observable between 0-6 meters) or go for fishing.
Gosh, fishes are beautiful there and...tasteful :)

Boats are called "Dohni". They bring you on excursions (for scuba diving or snorkeking) but also on a night fishing trip. It is pretty easy to get some fishes in those waters, although when big fishes come around it gets hard to bring them on the boat (no fishing-rod, only a nylon string...).

As the sun was going down and the tones were getting warmer I thought it could be interesting to get this daily fisher life scene, preparing baits.
I didn't expect the one guy in the foreground to look at me at first, that's why the focus isn't exactly on him. I think I missed it a little bit but I still like those men face expression (espacially the one on the back) and must say they were very kind and helpful with us, novices ;o)
