Photographer's Note

Chureito Pagoda is on the hill behind the town of Fuji Yaoshida, & located on the northern slopes of the iconic volcano of Fuji San / Yama. This modern pagoda was built for peace. I liked the halo effect of the encircling clouds here. Taken late afternoon just before sunset.

Nicely composed and framed image making good use of the contrast between the red and white of the pagoda and the surrounding trees. Good colours and definition.

Hi Chris,
as I wrote before, the colors seem to be very important. The POV upgoing with the composition of this orange between green is wonderful. The tree before the Pagoda seem to shine a bit itself.
Is the top something useful (an antenna) or historical/traditional? The halo effect is putting the focus additionally on the temple.

Nous voilà transporté loin des pays froids avec cette agréable petite pagode à l'architecture particulière. A son sommet on dirait presque une antenne !
Je me suis amusé à bleuir le ciel, le rendre un peu "corse" ;o))

Elle est je trouve un peu trop centrée sur la photo.

I can't recall ever seeing a pagoda with this pattern of painting on it - somehow the candstipes are very appropriate for Christmas (although I'm sure the makers didn't intend that!). Well done!

Hello Chris, the placement be perfect and make it possible to well appreciate this tower which balance the composition, it be impossible to circumvent practically pile poile with center, I know not if it be well or not, for me the framing function and it there with only the result aesthetic before the technique which count, A good point of view of this tower Japanese and this garden exuberant which l'entoure, the photograph be clear and precise, joyeux Merry Christmas with you .................Hello Chris, le placement est parfait et permet de bien apprécier cette tour qui équilibre la composition, elle est incontournable pratiquement pile poile au centre, je ne sais pas si c’est bien ou pas, pour moi le cadrage fonctionne et il n’y à que le résultat esthétique avant la technique qui compte,

I find this image to be exceptionally clear and a marvellous rendition of colour. The colours, ironically enough, are redolent of Xmas imagery. The definition on the trees is excellent in this nicely composed shot.

The red and white of the pagoda is very eye-catching and interesting to note the "Christmas" tree in front of it. The vertical format works well.
