Photographer’s Note
My wife is teaching in Sapporo for the fall. I have been enjoying Hokkaido in the fall colors. On this day (November 9) the colors were just at their peak. I saw the snow start falling, and rushed out with my camera.
I realize there's no traditional subject to this photo, but the red branch of this maple tree the contrast of the greens of the trees behind it, and finally the pointillistic-like feel that the snow and leaves on the ground adds made this shot for me, and why I chose it as my "come out" on Trek Earth.
I must have taken 50 shots that day, and I love every one.

Hi Mike!
First, welcome on TE! And you did it with a great shot in my opinion. I love the vivid red colour of the tree contrasting with the falling snow. It's a kind of graphic effect that I appreciate. Just one thing, always try to write a little note to explain the context of your shot.
Well done.
Quentin.

Hello Mike - this is really nice, the flaming red looks fantastic and goes well with the totally different background.

Hi Mike,
I really like the red "fire" of the maple.
The colours of your photo are so vivid and the snow makes it all more dynamic.
Regards,
Krysia
