Photographer's Note

Wow! I haven't posted for a really long time! I hope I'm not completely forgotten at TrekEarth!

I traveled to Ayabe city recently with my class to examine rural life in Japan. Despite the small number of people remaining in the villages that make up Ayabe city, I was glad to see that efforts were being made by the villagers to preserve this place. We passed by this small shrine, which reminded more of what I believe are the more simplistic roots of Shinto - the harmony with nature that I saw in the scenery everywhere in this shrine. I had to lower the exposure to about -1, b/c my new Canon A95 typically is too bright.
